The thin blue line is the symbol that shows support of law enforcement.
If you live in Utah then you probably know that it has been a tragic start to the year in the law enforcement community.
Yesterday was the funeral of Agent Francom, Ogden City P.D. who was shot and killed in the line of duty last week.
Being in the community of police officers, these people are family. We are all in the same boat.
It’s tough to be married to a cop. It’s frustrating at times and heaven knows it’s hard on the home front. Late night call outs, long hours well into the nights and early mornings, dealing with the worst of the general public, working most holidays and being viewed by many as ‘the bad guy.’ Not to mention the first Father’s Day Kyle ever had… He spent it handling a car accident that took the life of 2 people. One of them was the 3 year old son of a fellow officer in Heber City. See what I mean? It can be tough.
But you know what? It’s wonderful being married to a cop. Everyday Kyle gets to go out and do what he loves. He protects you and me and our families as well as all the other law officers. I am so proud to be married to the bravest man I know.
It’s been more poignant these past few days sending the love of my life out the door with the black band across his badge symbolizing a fellow fallen officer. I don’t want to say it’s scary sending him to work because it’s not. It would be a horrible way to live life constantly in fear of what could happen. We live in faith that whatever does happen we will be able to handle it.
Although we didn’t attend the funeral, we know others that did that have said the support shown the family and Ogden P.D. was insurmountable. Here are some clips of the funeral and burial, a glimpse of Star 7, and Agent Francom’s final 10-42.
Thank you Agent Francom and your family for your sacrifice to make one more neighborhood and this world a little bit safer.
And thank you to the law enforcement family. We wear the thin blue line with pride.

Thank you for the reminder. We take for granted that police will always be there to help when we call. It is a huge commitment and sacrifice on there part. Will you please tell my favorite highway patrolman thank you. And thank you for being willing to share him with the rest of us and keep the home fires burning.
