Dos Anos

Labor Day weekend was spent celebrating Casen’s second birthday! Sunday evening the family came over (including the Olsen’s!!!) for cake and ice cream.

Wesley preferred the apple.

Addi Sue, as usual, captured all our hearts the moment she came in the front door.

 

We are so lucky to have such a kid friendly backyard!

Case caught on to the present opening thing in a jiffy.

He was a champ at blowing out his candles, even though it took him 2 attempts.

At 2 years Casen is a pretty solid kid. He enjoys being tossed and wrestled around with when his dad wants to play.

He’s got a big vocabulary. But every parent thinks their kid knows a lot of words. He knows the important body parts and animal sounds. We’re working on colors.

He can say a few words in Spanish and it cracks us up every time he counts to three: “one, dos, tres!”

Case can name a lot of different foods. Some of his favorites being “moodles,” red peppers and broccoli, almonds, pizza and milk.

His favorite place to be is outside on his trike or doing whatever Kyle is up to.

I think he thinks he’s pretty neat-o because he’s getting better at eating with utensils and drinking out of a cup.

Although he thinks he’s pretty big and grown up, he still needs his ‘buggie’ (blanket) and binki to go down for naps and bedtime. Case has one 3-4 hour nap about 12-4 and goes to sleep all night around 8 and wakes up between 8 and 9 in the morning. I am not complaining one bit about his sleep habits!

Gosh, 2 years ago I was figuring out breastfeeding and trying to teach Casen how to sleep (he hasn’t always been that awesome sleeper mentioned above!) Now that same baby is asking to brush his own teeth and spends a good part of his days bossing 2 dogs around the backyard. How does that happen?!
