Hey everyone! Meet the newest memeber of our family - Reggie! We got Reggie about a week ago and it has been so much FUN having this little chocolate lab furball of joy. So far he has learned to sit and not chew on the rugs and dishtowels, and that peeing and pooping is for outside (we've had a couple of accidents, but he's catching on). Kyle and I have both been amazed at how quickly he's learning.
This picture was taken yesterday when we took Reggie out for his first swim at the lake. He really liked the water, even though it was pretty chilly and windy. Kyle braved the water and waded out with him. His big paws sure do well at keeping him afloat when he doggie paddles! It's amazing the inborn instinct that labs have to swim - he is a natural!
At nights we usually keep him behind this baby gate in the laundry room. I don't know what we're going to do in a couple of weeks when he gets big enough to jump over the gate! He rarely whines or barks when we leave him here to go to sleep. In fact, we've only had to put him outside once during the night because of making such a ruckus. Reggie is such a well behaved pup!
We are so lucky that Kyle gets to take Reggie to work with him on the farm. He's learning how to ride in the back of the truck, jump out (it's a long drop when you're such a small pup!), chase tumble weeds, and ride in the tractor. I actually went out today and rode for a while with my boys, and Reggie just layed on the floor and slept!
Kyle gives Reggie plenty of baths when they get home from work. He even goes as far as putting his towel in the dryer for Reggie so it's nice and warm when he gets out. What a spoiled pup! Kyle takes such good care of him.

It doesn't take long before Reggie falls asleep.
Tonya was visiting and brought Mialey and Nixon over the other night. Reggie got a little excited to have objects more his size to play with. Overall he did pretty well, but sometimes Reggie was a little much for the kids. Nevertheless, Mialey still says she likes 'Weggie'. :)

Evening time is fun for us. We take Reggie out and play fetch and wrestle and rough him up a little bit. It's so nice to have a fenced in yard so we can just let him out there and wander and play when we don't want him inside.

Kyle and Reggie are becoming the best of buds. We sure love our little pup! He's just another reason that you should come down and visit!!! :)

What a cute little puppy! He sounds like he is a well-behaved little pup too!
He looks like fun!!! He and maggie would be buddies!!!:)
Don't tell Scott you got a dog. He want's one so bad but I won't let him because it's just too sad to keep a dog in an apartment, especially when we're gone all the time. He's really cute though, I'm jealous. I wanna see a pic of the front of your house, so I can know where it is! I'm sure I could recognize any site in Monticello.
how cute Karlee and i want a dog so bad but the man of the house says not right now. maybe i will show him your post about reggie and then he will say yes! ya that's a good plan i think.
very cute puppy!
You're house looks really cute!! We'll have to come and visit next time we're down!! Congrats on the dog, he is adorable!! I think dogs are a must have before you ever have kids, it sort of prepares you for the adjustment!! Good luck, glad you guys are doing good!!
our lab still won't jump the baby gate and he is 5 years old. We used to just put a shower rod along the doorway, just loosely. He could go over or under it, but wouldn't. Labs are so trainable!! We've got a crate we are about to get rid of if you want it for sleeping? That's what we used to use for our dog, but now he has a bigger one. A serious life saver, especially for puppies!!
That looks like lots of fun Anna! Congrats! :) Sounds like life is treating you good!
Mialee was explaining to Clint what "Weggi" was like and was so excited that all we heard was "and and weggi and and weggi weggi jumped and weggi..." So needless to say she is Weggi whipped:) She loves him and can't wait to play with him...or run from him again. Love ya'll tons.
i have already commented but talk to your mom and dad. they're the ones who invited us to go. it's their fault...:)
