New Tradition

It was recently Kyle’s birthday. He is getting old and gray and decrepit. JK! He is such a handsome young buck.

We had the Bowman’s over and after a wild game of bowling -

And a new tradition! Ever heard of Mad Libs? I made my own from a journal entry about Kyle. The kiddos filled in the blanks with their own nouns, verbs and adjectives to come up with this -

(It’s quite lengthy, I’ve just added some excerpts)

(talking about when Casen was born) It’s easy to tell he’s your _{SISTER WIFE} because he has your _{SLEEPY TOE} and that same wild _{BLUE SMALL INTESTINE} that you were born with!

Finally, the _INFINITY months of _{BEAUTY SCHOOL} passed and we moved the day after _{VALENTINE’S} to a _{DARK, SUNBURNED BUNGALOW IN THE ZOO}. Since then you’ve been _{JUMPING COLD BUTTERFLIES} and _{JUGGLING SWEATY PIZZAS}. You are a _COUSIN every day you put on your _{VIOLET SOCK.}

Your _{LITTLE SISTER} adores you and your _SWEATSHIRT is mad about you. Thank you for your hard work and for making us the most _MUSCULAR family ever known! Happy _{462 ND birthday!}

The real thing read like this -

It’s easy to tell he’s your son because he has your ice blue eyes and that same wild blond hair that you were born with!

Finally, the long 4 months of POST passed and we moved the day after Thanksgiving to a cozy log cabin in Heber. Since then you’ve been catching bad guys and saving the good ones. You are a hero every day you put on your brown shirt.

Your son adores you and your wife is mad about you. Thank you for your hard work and for making us the happiest family ever known! Happy 27^th birthday!
