Thanksgiving Curtis Style

The holidays are always the best when you either start them early or drag them out late. This year for Turkey Day we did both!

Kyle wanted to have everyone for dinner the night before Thanksgiving to kick start it all. Case and I decorated and planned and prepared. And he would not leave that silly pumpkin alone!

Kyle had to work the whole weekend, but luckily it was pretty slow, so he was able to make time for us, show up for mealtimes and games, and most importantly, tend to the prime rib. He was the master chef behind it all.

That was a huge slab of prime rib there – and we polished it off with no problem!

In a matter of minutes, these plates were full and we ate and ate and only had a small helping of corn leftover. The Curtis Clan does not mess around when good food is involved.

It was all so enjoyable that taking pictures didn’t even cross my mind!

Same with the next morning…

We did something new to the Curtis’ originally begun by the Olsen’s. We gathered for breakfast and munched down pie after pie after pie. Pie for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning is the most brilliant idea, I’d have to say! But there are no pictures to prove just how wonderful it all was. This year my contribution to Pie Morning was my very favorite, razzleberry as well as raspberry lemon, peanut butter cream and quiche.

It took several hours to recover from the pie feast, but that afternoon we were ready to go at it again!

It was almost too much for the kiddos to have to wait ANY longer than we did to eat. Heck, it was almost too much for me to wait! It was sooo good.

Mialee and Nixon were the master designers for the relish kabob turkey below.

Despite the sad boy in the photo, Wes was a happy camper most of the weekend! He’s sure a cute kiddo.

The after dinner activities included raking my leaves. These kiddos know how to work!

And of course, the best part is jumping in them!

The men watched football, too. What’s a Thanksgiving Curtis style without a little football? or a lot of it…

Still can’t figure out why they were watching it from Cody’s phone and not the TV? Hmph. Boys…

Much later that night, after the babies had sugar plums dancing in their heads, we made a Maverik run for like the upteenth time (see previous post to understand to novelty that Maverik is to us)

And we played game after game after game and watched Guy on a Buffalo, Bad Lip Reading 1, Bad Lip Reading 2, and Bad Lip Reading 3. And I tell ya what, my face hurt from laughing so much.  YOu need to watch these links. But make sure you use the potty first.

Unfortunately, all good things come to and end and the next morning, that’s just what happened when Clint & Tonya and the kiddos left.

But we really do have a TON of fun when we get together with everyone. I’m so grateful I married into a family like this, cause how boring would that be if we didn’t have any fun?
